Lapping events are non-timed events in which drivers lap the West road race track at speed in a controlled environment to experience braking points, turn-in points and corner apexing techniques. Drivers are separated into run groups, typically two, Novice and Experienced drivers. Passing is allowed by a 'point to pass' rule on straights only to minimize the risk of contact with other cars. Lapping provides a venue to experience your car and driving ability at speed, safely.

Lapping vehicle requirements are more stringent than those of Autocross. Modified and convertible vehicles require specified design rollover protection.

Average entry fees for this type of event are about $150.
